Day 2 in Italy (Sistine Chapel)

Talking is not allowed in the Sistine Chapel so our tour guide gave us his spiel before we entered. Photos aren't allowed either, but somehow Eva's camera went off in her purse and, happy accident, we got this picture.

We "learned" that Michaelangelo:

1. Didn't want the gig (but you can't refuse the Pope).
2. Had never done any frescoes before.
3. Was suggested to the Pope by a rival that wanted him to fail.
4. Started at the far end so he would be better by the time he got to the front.
5. Learned in the first panel that the figures had to be larger to be seen from the ground, some 60 feet away. Note the smaller figures in the top panel.
