Next on the Magic of Rome tour was the second largest cathedral in the world, St. Paul's.
Eva asked these nuns if the would pose for us. Just kidding. They just happened to be there.
This is also one of the four churches of Rome so I am now halfway to my goal of seeing all of them.
This church has small round mosaics of all the popes. From Peter the 1st to Benedict the 16th. I learned that St. Peter was the first pope. He reigned for 25 years before he was crucified by the Romans. He asked to be crucified upside down because he wasn't worthy to be crucified in the same way as Jesus. Most of the early popes were martyred until Emperor Constantine converted the Roman Empire to Christianity in 312 AD.
Here's the inside of the church. Picture doesn't do it justice, but it's a quick look.
